Frequently Asked Questions

We know your time is valuable, so we want to respect yours! Your first TWO visits will be the longest ones as we get to know each other and tailor your care to your specific needs.
Your first visit can range from 45–60 minutes as we complete your health history, assessments, evaluations, and scans with our state-of-the-art technology. Depending on your specific case, Dr. Kingsley may also recommend X-rays. Having your paperwork completed prior to coming can help shorten your visit!
We know you may be excited — or nervous — to get adjusted right away, especially if you are in pain. We hear you! However, we don't want to rush you into care without taking the time to understand what is actually going on. After your first visit, Dr. Kingsley takes all of your information, analyzes your findings, and creates a specific care plan just for you. We want to make sure we are addressing the root cause, not just making you feel better for a day or two.
At your second visit, Dr. Kingsley will present your findings and recommendations, answer your questions, and explain her findings. If you choose to start care, this is when you will receive your first adjustment. Any exceptions to this process are handled on a case-by-case basis.
After your first two visits, a typical adjustment can take between 5–7 minutes, depending on how busy the office is at your scheduled time. We try to make sure you can pop in and out and fit your adjustment into your schedule!
Throughout your care, we will also complete additional evaluations and assessments. We will always let you know ahead of time, and these appointments can take around 20–30 minutes. If you are hoping to talk one-on-one with Dr. Kingsley or have a new issue arise, just let our team know so we can plan accordingly!

When people hear “chiropractic,” they usually have an image in mind of someone cracking your back where it hurts and going after pain relief. While that may feel better in the moment, our approach is different.
Neurological chiropractic uses advanced technology and specific adjustments to address the nervous system and help it function better — from the inside out. We aren't just addressing the pain; we are looking at your body and its systems as a whole.
The nervous system is an intricate and powerful system made up of the brain, spinal cord, and nerves. It helps coordinate everything from breathing and digestion to movement and how your body responds to stress.
We all experience stress — physical, mental, chemical, and emotional — and that stress can take a toll or “imprint” on the nervous system. Over time, these stressors can contribute to tension, irritation, and changes in how the brain and body communicate.
Our goal isn't simply to make the “pain area” disappear — although that can happen! — but to help your body communicate, adapt to stress, and function better overall.
Your body is incredible. We are simply helping it do what it knows how to do best — take care of itself.
We can't pick and choose what heals first. It is a journey to unravel what may have taken years to imprint, but if you're ready for the ride, so are we!

We are SO excited to offer this state-of-the-art technology in our office! One of the things we love most is having tangible data to show the changes your body is experiencing throughout your neurologically-focused chiropractic care.
We use three different types of Insight scans:
HRV — Heart Rate Variability
HRV gives us information about your autonomic nervous system and how your body is responding and adapting to stress. It looks at the balance and activity of the sympathetic and parasympathetic sides of your nervous system. Your scan is broken into five zones, which we will explain in greater detail based on your individual results.sMEG — Muscle Assessment
Our sMEG is a muscle assessment that looks at the electrical activity and function of the muscles surrounding your nervous system. It helps us identify muscle spasms, imbalances along the spine, and areas where your body may be using energy inefficiently. The different colors on your scan help us visualize these patterns.NeuroThermal — Nerve Assessment
Our NeuroThermal scan uses infrared technology to measure tiny differences in temperature from one side of the spine to the other. This gives us information about the sympathetic portion of the autonomic nervous system and how it is functioning along different spinal levels. We use these three scans during your initial visit and at re-evaluation points throughout your care plan. This allows us to track changes and give you tangible information about what your body is experiencing throughout your healing journey.

Chiropractors are doctors of the nervous system. The nervous system controls every aspect of the body, and if we aren’t addressing the nervous system, we aren’t truly fixing the problem.
Physical therapy and massage are valuable therapies, but they are addressing the secondary issue. Chiropractors are addressing the primary issue. When we are able to restore your brain-body communication through our specific neuro-tonal adjustments and make sure the foundation of your body is functioning properly, the other therapies addressing your muscles, joints, or other issues are able to be fully benefited.
-
Absolutely! Chiropractic is a non-surgical, non-invasive, drug-free approach to healthcare, and safety is always one of our top priorities.
Our primary technique is instrument-based, which means there is a lot less cracking, popping, and twisting. Many of our patients tell us they feel immediately relaxed when they even lay on the table because their body knows it can take a breather from the chaos of daily life, receive a gentle and specific adjustment, and feel ready to take on the rest of their day.
Chiropractors don't take anything out of your body or put anything into your body. Our goal is to help clear the path of communication between your brain, spinal cord, and body so your nervous system can function as well as possible.
And if you're still nervous — you are in the right place!
We love educating people about chiropractic, the nervous system, and exactly what we are doing and why. During your consultation, we can even show you what our adjustments look like so you know exactly what to expect before you ever get started.
-
Honestly, every person is different, and how your body responds depends on lots of factors.
Many people feel relief almost immediately and describe feeling lighter, more relaxed, or even a little “taller.” For others, it can take a little longer for their body to respond.
You may also experience temporary soreness, tiredness, dizziness, or lightheadedness after an adjustment. This process is referred to as “retracing” — the idea that your body is processing something new and adjusting to changes in how it is functioning.
We never know exactly what your body will “unravel” first, which is why we focus on your individual findings and realistic expectations rather than promising an overnight fix.
True healing takes time and consistency.
If you're committed, so are we!

Everybody is different, and every journey to healing is different, too!
At your second visit, we take into consideration your specific history, scan findings, and assessments to present our recommendations for your Active Care phase. After your active care plan, we will reassess, evaluate, and discuss a Wellness Care phase so you can continue supporting your body into restorative care moving forward.
One question we love to ask is:
Is feeling fine the same as functioning well?
We are so glad when you feel better, but sometimes other areas can begin to arise as we unwind or unravel what your body has been holding onto for days, months, or even years.
Our goal isn't simply to get you feeling better and send you on your way. We want to help your body continue on a positive trajectory so you can continue to adapt, heal, and thrive through whatever stressors come your way in the future.
Neurological care takes time, repetition, and consistency for lasting change. Your specific care plan will always be based on your individual needs, and we will continue to reassess along the way.

Absolutely! We LOVE taking care of our mamas, babies, and growing families!
Pregnant Moms
Pregnancy can be one of the most challenging and miraculous times of a woman's life. There are physical, hormonal, emotional, and mental changes happening all at once, and it can feel overwhelming!
Dr. Kingsley is Webster Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), which means she has specific training in pregnancy care and the Webster Technique. Our goal is to help moms feel more comfortable, support their changing bodies, and prepare for labor and delivery.
We also care about the nervous system during pregnancy. When your body is constantly operating in a fight-or-flight state, it can affect how you experience pregnancy and how your body adapts to all of these changes.
If your nervous system is being supported, your body has the opportunity to do what it was made to do beautifully.
Please let us know at your first visit if you are pregnant, hoping to become pregnant, or have had children in the past. We love taking care of our mamas!
Babies
A lot of parents ask, “Does my baby really need chiropractic care?” — and you are definitely not alone in asking!
Birth can be a physically demanding process for a baby's body, whether it is a vaginal birth or C-section. We have seen babies come into our office with concerns such as favoring one side, difficulty turning their neck, challenges with latching or swallowing, digestive concerns, and delays in certain movement patterns.
The nervous system plays an incredible role in a baby's growth and development, especially during that first year when they are learning and changing so quickly.
Dr. Kingsley is a member of the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA) and has cared for many children — including her own!
Our pediatric care is gentle, specific, and tailored to your child's individual needs.
Children
Your child's nervous system is the foundation of their growing body, developing mind, and how they process the world around them.
Think about it this way: if you came into our office with several different concerns that took years of stress, repetition, and time to show up as pain, what if we could help your child address those patterns earlier?
We can absolutely discuss how chiropractic care can support your child's — and anyone in the family's — overall health.
It's what we love to do!

We know healthcare costs can be top of mind for many families. Insurance costs are high, deductibles are high, and you never fully know exactly what your insurance will or won't cover.
We want to make care as straightforward and affordable as possible.
We are in network with Medicare. Please bring your photo ID and insurance card so we can complete a complimentary benefits check and help you understand exactly what is covered. You won't incur any charges before we discuss them with you.
For other insurance companies, we are considered out of network, but we are happy to provide a receipt called a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your individual plan.
We choose this structure because we don't want insurance restrictions to dictate the amount or type of care you actually need. We don't want to be forced to only focus on the pain area when there may be more going on.
Think about it like this:
If your check-engine light comes on in your car, you can take it into a mechanic and address the issue right away — or you can ignore it. Maybe it is something simple, like an oil change. Regular maintenance can help keep your car operating well. But if you ignore that check-engine light, more problems may arise, potentially resulting in a much bigger bill and much bigger repairs.
We like to think of chiropractic care as little tune-ups for your body.
In our office, every person and situation is different, so it is difficult to tell you exactly what your care will cost before we complete your initial consultation and assessment. At your second visit, we will discuss our recommendations, your care plan, and all financials before your care begins.
Our maximum price for an adjustment is $45–$50, with opportunities for discounts such as military/service, student, and multiple-family-member care.
We work with many families to create a care plan and budget that works for them without sacrificing the quality of care they need.
Health should be an investment — and you are worth investing in!

Yes! Chiropractors are doctors.
Our specific degree is a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC). We are not Medical Doctors (MDs) or Osteopathic Doctors (DOs), but our education includes extensive study in the core sciences.
A Doctor of Chiropractic program is typically a rigorous graduate-level program that includes subjects such as chemistry, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology, pathology, physics, neurology, radiology, toxicology, orthopedics, differential diagnosis, and more.
While chiropractors do not prescribe medications or perform surgeries, we receive extensive education in areas such as nutrition, neurology, diagnostic studies, imaging, and hands-on adjusting techniques.
Chiropractic has three core elements: art, philosophy, and science. We spend hours studying the sciences, honing the art of adjusting, and learning the philosophy and history of chiropractic.
Before practicing, chiropractors must also complete rigorous national board examinations and maintain their licensure through continuing education.
Dr. Kingsley has extensive training in multiple neuro-tonal techniques, including Torque Release Technique, MC2, and Zone, and is Webster Certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association, specializing in pregnancy care.
Dr. Kingsley also graduated as valedictorian and takes her education very seriously because she wants to offer the best care possible for you and your family.
Your health matters, and we are so happy to serve you and your family!
